About the Guild

Our aims are to preserve and to promote the traditional crafts of hand weaving, spinning and dyeing.

We are part of the  Association of Guilds of Weavers, Spinners, and Dyers and are a registered Charity (Charity number: 1086572).

Our branch is Sheffield based but has members from Derbyshire and all over South and West Yorkshire.

We meet monthly to show each other our work, share our skills and ideas.
We welcome all abilities – complete beginners to experts.
Informal tuition is available at meetings.

We organise workshops, talks, public demonstrations, exhibitions, and trips.

We welcome new members and visitors.

When

The Guild meets on the second SUNDAY of the month from 10.30 to 3.30 (including a business meeting from 11 to 12 approx).

Where

at Batemoor and Jordanthorpe Community Centre, Dyche Lane, Norton Sheffield, S8 8BT

How

You could drive, or catch a bus.

Car parking is available.

The following buses go to Jordanthorpe:
1 (though not all the no. 1s), 18A, 75 & M17
In addition these go the Meadowhead (10 min walk)
24,25, 43,43A, 44 and X17

How Much

The membership for 2023 is £28 per annum. This is due at the December AGM. All meetings are free for members. Tea and coffee is available for a small charge. Members who join during the year pay pro rata depending on when they join.

Visitors are charged £5.00 per meeting.
